Who am I? Where am I ? What am I doing here?
It is only when we are relaxed or take some time to sit down and think.... about these questions that finally, 'once again' we slip back to our senses.. Our brain is usually so filled up with lots of activities and thoughts planning for activities, that we seldom realize WHO WE ARE!! And then a strange sense of loss overcomes.. but there is no meaning in wasting time over wasted time, isnt it.
I felt it to be a very strange phenomenon that a stroll by the riverside, with slight breeze grazing your face, or sitting by the beach watching the waves, with a beautiful blue sky filled with white clouds, or how can I missout, lying down on the grass under the mysterious star-lit sky...., all alone, gives us an intense presense of the Creator of it all...Or rather it could be pretty plain..when we are all the time among things that are man-made, so much involved in activities related to it...and so cut off from the nature, how can we feel Him naturally?unless and otherwise we induce the thought of the creator purposely in our minds- for example the prayers and supplications.
Looks like it is getting more and more difficult for people to feel the presense of our creator naturally and to spend some time with Him... as the world is getting confined among office walls and the walls of their own making, that we need to take time out of our watches to enjoy the nature that God created for us to enjoy. To contemplate on the vastness of the universe, majesty of the mountains, the grace of the flowing streams, the mystery of the stars and the deep oceans, the complexity of the human body and mind....all to find and glorify the greatness of the ONE who created it all....and in the process meet our own selves....who we are, where we are and what we are made for.... let the journey begin !!

What is Going on...?
The IT situation in India is getting worse and worse...esp with the employees..why are we not happy?
What has happened to the IT industry? why is it any different from other jobs...in which you do work and are compensated for it?? why? I feel it is different because of the concept of outsourcing. I feel that if this whole IT had originated in India, the case would have been different. Which makes me feel that 'IT' in particular has nothing to do with this pattern. I feel if it were anything other than IT, that could be outsourced, the condition would be the same...So finally, we can boil down the culprit to the 'Outsourcing'.
But think again..why is outsourcing bad? See, folks out there in US and Europe and such, on a fine day, discovered that they can get their work done cheaper by outsourcing it to poor indians and such, as they need to pay little compared to what they have to pay out there to an equal. I feel the best bargain must have been this, that they do not have any other liability towards these employees- in the form of pension or gratuity or dont have to concern abt matters of HR, leave , concerns etc etc. they just get the work done for which they pay a fixed amount.
We indians were more than happy because of the exchange rate of the currency they pay....but...this is supposed to look like the "so they lived happily ever after" ending of a fairy tale...but why isnt it so....well think....and think again. If they pay an engineer $40 per hour(lets just imagine)in the US, but they hire me for even $20 per hour...if i work even 8 hrs a day( we work for 9.5 or more)..i would get around Rs 7200. which means if I work for 20 days a month, i get 1 lakh 44 thousand bucks in my hand....the yankies are double happy, and iam...lets see...around 9 times more happy(dont you dare calculate my salary...stop it :-p). So where is the problem...
The problem is , it doesnt work that way....they dont come around looking for you..and employ you directly as we imagined... that is where the problem creeps in... Some good old heads(some even white) sniffed it out before us..that they could stand in the middle and take the money and give us some tit bits and say: "hey , ur not grown up yet to handle this money...papa will keep it for you:"...
hmm well...still lets just speculate ..the yankie indian deal too was a kind of similar one..with papa yankie swallowing half of the catch. may b we could negotiate here too...in the current situ....well lets calculate...
$20 * 9.5(our time) * 20 days * 45(approx exchange rate)=Rs 171000
average starter salary - 20,000...
So 20,000/171000 *100 =11.69%
So here goes...papa takes almost 88 % and gives us the 12 %....
story doesnt end here...cos this is supposed to go smooth still...as 20,000 is something everybody doesnt get...(b4)..
they add along with this...their dirty work extracting tricks, work politics...i dont need to write it all, u know...
So finally what do we have? an overworked, under paid, unastisfied under aged mortal...who doesnt have time to think, eat, sleep, spend time with the family etc because his deadlines have to be met...bugs have to be reported...etc etc...unhappy wives...neglected chilren, and a bunch of diseases, increase in traffic, pollution, rent, accidents, infertility, depression, cutting down of trees, global warming, floods etc etc etc ....all for feeding the yankie papas and our indian papas...
IS IT WORTH THE STRUGGLE?.....THE SACRIFICE? all the overtimes, night outs... ?
Its time we start THINKING...we have forgotten to think in the middle of all this..
If we have the brain..the knowledge, and experaince..., arent we grown enough?
